How women were presented throughout the film  

As the film begins Roger passes through his house giving the audience a monologue about his life and then digresses onto talking about his wife, calls her girlfriend first as a mistake, this conveys their relationship status as not serious

When the audience first encounters Diana she is naked in the shower as Roger goes to greet her by kissing her, this heavily sexualized her and sets the tone for the rest of the main female characters in the film.

The next female we are introduced to comes as a surprise entrance as the scene cuts from  giving his wife breakfast in bed to him having sex with another women and by the mise en scene it shows that he had not changed clothes from the previous shot which leaves the audience to believe that the two events took place with relatively close timings, this helps the audience to formulate the opinions of the main character and  as her entrance into the movie was as an affair
