School girl able to buy bleach in newham
Image result for 14 year old girlImage result for domestos bleachBbc's 5 live took part in a sting which was lead by Newham county council, in which a 14 year old girl attempted to buy bleach from stores all around London after they had made an agreement to not sell to children after the rise in the amount of acid attacks, however BBC investigates were present when the school girl was able to purchase bleach in a store in Newham in what has been dubbed London's acid attack capital.

In Newham there have been 182 retailers who have signed up to a voluntary scheme to stop sales of acid's to anyone under the age of 21 however with the results of the sting has caused alarm and promoted the government to bring the plans forward to create a legislation prevent stores from selling corrosive acid's to anyone under the age of 21.
After the home office viewed the evidence they themselves stated that " that it was considering responses to its consultation on a proposal to ban sales of corrosive products to under-18s, and creating a new possession offence" this could lead to lowering the amount of acid attacks which London has been facing in recent years however I don't think the problem here resides in taking away the use of a weapon but the problem is with the youth of today.

Image result for acid attackThe acid attack problem is verry similar to the gun problem America is facing, this is due to the fact that guns don't kill people, people use guns to kill people, bleach should be being used in a toilet not on someone's face or I'n their eyes, I remember when I was younger and my mum would send me shopping and put bleach on the shopping list as it is a normal household item, banning children from purchasing acid does not stop them having access to it.

It's the same way that we have 15 year olds getting drunk, stopping access to the one weapon won't stop the violence because If the people want a weapon they find one, they could start using lighters with deodorant cans or even animals next, the only way the government can stop the violence is through dealing with the root of the problem
